Academic achievement update: This month, our board monitored progress toward our goals for (1) overall student achievement and (2) middle school achievement. For overall student achievement, Dallas ISD grew by two points over last year to 44%, while closing achievement gaps. This is just shy of our goals and expectations, but we look forward to seeing this improve over the next year. Middle school achievement – which has been a focus area for Dallas ISD – grew 3 points to 42%, meeting our rigorous goal this year, while also closing achievement gaps. Still a long way to go, but we’re moving in the right direction.

Become a mentor to a high schooler: Are you interested in being a mentor to a Molina, Adamson, or Sunset student here in our neighborhood? Construction Updates:
● Rosemont Upper Campus: Since the board approved the new vendor a month ago, the contract has been finalized and the vendor, Beck, has begun active work on the project. This is currently two months ahead of schedule.

● Old Adamson High School: Dallas ISD received a site assessment from a recommended expert this past month about the condition and remediation options for Old Adamson High School. Based on that assessment, Dallas ISD is now working with a group that specializes in historic renovations to get costs on shoring and repairing the façade.

Upcoming Events:
● Nov. 20-24 – Thanksgiving Break – *NO SCHOOL*
