The New York-based company, which also owns the Common Desk co-working spaces, sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November and has attempted to get out of over seven dozen leases across the country since, according to the News.

The Common Desk location on Davis Street is one of the offices the company is asking the bankruptcy court to end the lease on. A Deep Ellum office at 2919 Commerce St. has also been included in the request.

“WeWork is requesting the ability to reject the leases of certain locations, which are largely non-operational and all affected members have received advanced notice,” a statement made by the company in November said.

The Davis Street co-working location has been open since 2015.

At the time of opening, owner Nick Clark told the Advocate that 18 of 35 dedicated office spaces had been leased, and there were about 30 members at the office, primarily Oak Cliff residents. Clark also moved to Oak Cliff around the time of the opening.
