Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is no stranger to Texas, but we certainly weren’t expecting to see him in Elmwood anytime soon. File this under Oak Cliff’s latest celebrity sighting.

Mahomes was at TX Studio in Tyler Station last month for the cover photoshoot of TIME Magazine’s “100 most influential people in the world” issue.

“We are so honored and grateful to have hosted everyone for this shoot,” the photography studio posted on Instagram to announce the cover. “It was a labour of love and we’re so excited with the outcome!”

“We got to talk to him for a bit and he’s so chill and down to earth,” the studio added in a comment.

The moody photographs, whose colors mirror the signature red and yellow of the Kansas City Chiefs, were taken by Joshua Kissi, a Ghanaian-American photographer based out of New York City.

Mahomes was recognized as a Titan by TIME. The annual TIME100 issue recognizes 100 influential or notable individuals who fall into the categories of artists, innovators, titans, leaders, icons and pioneers. Short profiles of each individual are written by a peer; in Mahomes’ case, Major League Baseball alum Alex Rodriguez wrote about Patrick’s “heart of a champion.”
