Kimball High School won its eighth state championship in boys basketball on Friday night.
The Kimball Knights defeated the Houston-Washington Eagles 71 to 48 to take home the 4A Division I title.
The Knights held Washington to just 4 points in the second quarter as forward Marri Wickware led the way for Kimball, scoring 21 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Three-star Alabama-Birmingham signee Lance Carr recorded 17 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and four steals as the team forced 22 turnovers.
Wickware was named MVP of the game.
Kimball, which won its first state title in 1990, made its 14th state final appearance Friday and improved to 8-6 in the championship game. The team entered the contest already claiming the most state titles in Dallas ISD history.
