The third annual Burger Fight took place on May 25 at Dallas Youth Sports in Oak Cliff. Organized by nonprofit Meat Fight Inc, the ticketed fundraiser drew spectators to look on as Dallas chefs competed for the honor of best burger. A total of $25,000 was raised, a post from Meat Fight’s Facebook announced Tuesday.

Bekavac and Goodwins took home the prize for Judge’s Choice Best Burger, while Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House won the People’s Choice Award.

Meat Fight Inc is a Dallas-based nonprofit that has raised funds for MS-related causes with protein-forward fundraisers since 2010. To date, Meat Fight has raised over $3 million for the National MS Society. The funds raised Monday will go towards a pediatric MS research program with UTSouthwestern. Surplus donations will be used to equip five individuals with MS with ‘Meat Bikes,’ which are used to participate in Bike MS, a fundraising series of bicycle courses spanning 100+ miles.
