For almost three decades, The Family Place’s annual luncheon has celebrated women’s advocates while benefiting domestic violence survivors. This year’s event will conclude the longtime tradition and feature Dennison, who recently retired from her executive role at Texas Capital Bank, as an award recipient.

Dennison has always tried to uplift women in need by committing herself to community service, she said. For example, she served on the board of Texas Women’s Foundation, where she chaired two of the organization’s largest events. She’s also worked with organizations such as the Parkland Foundation, VNA Meals on Wheels, Genesis Women’s Alliance and The Family Place. While serving on the Parkland Foundation board, she succeeded in advocating for a $500,000 contribution to the Moody Breast Cancer Center from the Texas Capital Foundation.

The luncheon is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10, at The Fairmont Dallas downtown. Individual tickets sell for $350 apiece, and sponsorships start at $3,000. Both are available online.

The Fairmont Dallas is located at 1717 N. Akard St.
