A female jogger told police she fought off a man who was trying to rape her at Lake Cliff Park early Tuesday.
The 27-year-old woman told police she was jogging just before 7 a.m. when a man, who had been sitting on a park bench, grabbed her. She slapped the attacker and screamed, prompting a construction worker to run toward them, which chased the attacker away.
This is at least the second early-morning attack on a woman near Zang and Colorado this year.
In January, a woman told police she was raped at gunpoint at about 7 a.m. at Founders Park.
