The Dallas Police Department discovered two illegal businesses in our area over the weekend.
Officers served a warrant on Big T Bazaar and seized 13,500 counterfeit handbags, with a retail value of more thanĀ $2 million. They arrested fiveĀ people for trademark counterfeiting, a felony that could result in the punishment of two-10 years in prison.
The bust was the result of a collaboration from DPD, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Dallas County Sheriffās Department, the Grand Prairie Police Department and the Dallas County District Attorneyās Office.
The Dallas Police Department also found a marijuana farmĀ in a wooded area off Ledbetter Road. They seized about 5,000 marijuana plants from City of Dallas-owned property. No arrests have been made.
