The new 7-Eleven on Sylvan at Interstate 30 is opening soon, and it will have a Laredo Taco Co.
For the uninitiated, this is the taquerÃa inside Stripes convenience stores, and it’s the everyday go-to taco spot in the Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Oak Cliff’s own taco expert Jose Ralat Maldonado of the Taco Trail says Laredo Taco Co. makes their own flour tortillas and has “some of the best breakfast tacos I’ve had, gas station or otherwise.”
Ralat’s 2013 review of the taco shop says the “glorious lard-embraced, almost-translucent” tortillas are made to order.
The closest one to Dallas currently is in Waco.
Irving-based 7-Eleven bought Laredo Taco Co. and most Stripes stores in 2017.
