Our neighborhood representatives took vaccine registration into their own hands last week in a move that lit a fire under City Hall.
Hundreds of people showed up to an impromptu vaccine registration event that City Councilman Chad West and County Commissioner Elba Garcia organized last week with Oak Cliff resident Leslie Cannon, demonstrating the need for better communication, especially among Hispanic communities in Dallas.
It’s easy for anyone to sign up for the Dallas County vaccine waitlist online.
But volunteers are needed for in-person vaccine registration.
West and Garcia are organizing five more registration events, along with Dallas ISD trustee Ben Mackey and Dallas College trustee Diana Flores.
