Billed as the biggest and longest running parade in North Texas, the Dallas Cinco de Mayo Parade & Fiesta will be held in Oak Cliff this weekend. The celebration, organized by the Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts, actually takes place on May 4, proceeding down Jefferson Boulevard.
A welcome ceremony will be held at 9 a.m., featuring a DJ and live poetry reading. At 10, floats, vehicles and performers will take off down the mile-long route.
The parade route will be littered with vendors and food trucks, culminating with a party from 1-3 p.m. at the Texas Theatre.
The event is free and open to the public.
