Formerly Pegasus Tattoo Studios, Pegasus is a tattoo parlor and mental health space combined, founder and tattoo artist Stephanie Adelina said. It first opened in 2020 and is relaunching with wellness and mental health services, she said.
“[The relaunch] came about mostly because of the need in the tattoo industry for safe spaces for marginalized groups,” she said. “We’ve always been specifically a queer-friendly hub.”

Satchel Victory, a pre-licensed mental health professional pursuing licensure as a licensed professional counselor, is Adelina’s partner in the mental health aspect of this endeavor.
Once the event starts at 2 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to receive mental health- and Pride-themed flash tattoos and hear from the Resource Center and local professionals, Victory said. From 6-9 p.m., they can enjoy live music, food and beverages outside, he said. The outdoor portion of the event will be in collaboration with The People’s Art Collective.
“We’re going to encourage people to also patronize the businesses locally in Downtown Elmwood,” Victory said.
Besides celebrating Pegasus’ reopening as a safe space for mental health as well as tattoos, this event aims to foster community and spread awareness about local resources related to mental health.
“We want Pegasus to be a community hub and a meeting place [with] resources for what Oak Cliff — and Dallas in general — and marginalized groups need,” Adelina said.
The grand opening will take place from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at 1813 Balboa Place and is free to attend, but it will also help fundraise for low-cost mental health services.
