With nearly a month until the debut, the Oak Cliff Art Walk is still taking submissions.
Artists interested in joining in on the third event have the opportunity to submit their work until Friday, August 29.
The OC Art Walk is a community-driven annual event that gives local artists the opportunity to showcase their work in a nontraditional and welcoming environment, without the restrictions of gallery costs and fees.
Typically, the art walk is held at The Oak Cliff Assembly, but this year the event will take place at East Dock. The new location is a historic industrial warehouse that is over a century old, built in 1915 as an ice factory and later operating as both an airplane part manufacturer and a bookbinding facility.
This new location allows for more art with added space for the event. This year’s event will also include four local schools where elementary to high school students are creating special pieces for the event, said Haley Leavitt of Proxy Properties, a real estate group focused on vacant, forgotten and historical properties.
Oak Cliff artists of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels are invited to participate and submit paintings, sculptures, photography or even something else entirely as all forms of art are welcome to submit.
For tickets to attend this year’s art walk event, please visit here. If you’d like to volunteer, you can sign up here. For those interested in attending as vendors, you can apply here and will receive confirmation of a secured spot by Sept. 1.
East Dock is located at 900 E. Clarendon Drive.
