DISD makes Robin Ryan chief academic officer

The Dallas Independent School District has promoted Robin Ryan to chief academic officer. Ryan has served as executive director of the West Secondary Learning Community since 2006, where he directed curriculum for 38 schools, including Adamson, Early College at Mountain View, Molina, South Oak Cliff and Sunset.

Ryan was principal of Colleyville Heritage High School before moving to DISD three years ago. He still lives in Grapevine, which has been a point for critics who think DISD executives should live within the district.
