This weekend: Pee-Wee, Neil Hamburger, theater, Bill Frisell

“Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” screens at the Texas Theatre through next Wednesday. And to kick off the week of Pee-Wee, the theater is hosting a party tonight, Jan. 12, starting at 6 p.m. Come dressed as your favorite character for a chance to win a Texas Theatre membership. The theater also is screening the Charlie Chaplin feature “Gold Rush” and the Ministry movie “Fix.”

Comedian Neil Hamburger returns to the Texas Saturday, Jan. 14.

TeCo Theatrical Productions kicks off its Scholars of the Diaspora series at the Bishop Arts Theater Center this week. Eleanor Renee Rodriguez hosts a discussion, “Learning Through A Cultural Difference Lens” at 6 tonight, Jan. 12. Tickets start at $15.

Hunter Hendrickson, Spooky Folk and Exit 380 perform at the Kessler Theater Friday. Contemporary guitarist Bill Frisell performs with special guest Carrie Rodriguez Saturday.
