$500 reward offered for Jefferson median vandals

The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League is offering a $500 reward for the arrest and conviction of the vandals who damaged newly planted trees along the Jefferson Boulevard median west of Hampton.

This past weekend, vandals scraped all the bark off and completely unearthed some of the burr oak and sweet gum trees. The all-volunteer Jefferson Median Beautification Project planted the trees about two years ago, and volunteers carry water to them to keep them alive. It is unclear now whether the trees will survive the summer.

If you or anyone you know has information regarding these vandals, please contact the Dallas Police Department.
