Creative kids winter camp registration open

If your kids get bored or artsy over winter break, the two-day kids green zine camp will keep them busy and creative. Registration is open for the camp, $75, hosted by Oil and Cotton and Lakewood writing center The Writer’s Garret Thursday and Friday Dec. 27-28 from 1-4 p.m.

Oil and Cotton recommends early registration for the camp, which the Dallas Observer voted as the best kids camp of 2012.

Kids and teens age 10 and older will make zines, or handmade books of words and images. This camp focuses on exploring nature, art and self through writing, graphics, drawing, printmaking and piecing together collages.

You can see images of some amazing zines kids put together and read about a summer zine camp event here.
