You know you live in Oak Cliff when you’re excited about a new 7-Eleven, and I am stoked about this one at the corner of Hampton and Jefferson, which opened Tuesday.
It is on a high-traffic corner which had been the site of a boarded-up gas station for several years. Oh thank heaven that thing is gone. The store won a zoning case to sell beer and wine despite being a block away from Sunset High School. And right now, gas is $2.95 per gallon.
Maybe this new store will help diminish the wait for a pump during rush hours at the two nearest gas stations, Tom Thumb and Valero.
