Ann’s offers produce discount this week

58229_632279450116769_352996221_nA grocery war may be stirring in Oak Cliff. Two new health-focused grocery stores are entering the market. Urban Acres had a grand opening last week. And Cox Farms Market it expected to open at Sylvan Thirty around Feb. 18.

Ann’s Health Food Center & Market opened in Oak Cliff in 1984.

“We have been selling strictly 100 percent organic produce for some time now, and we have always tried to carry the staple items,” Ann’s announced on Facebook. “To better serve our customers and our community, we will be increasing our selection of local and organic produce…”

    I moved to Oak Cliff a year ago. I have been to Ann’s once. The produce was literally rotting in the produce case. Is that common? Was that just a bad week? I have not been inclined to return because of how disgusting it was.

    I can see how the Cox Farms Market building will be ready by February 18, but what area will be ready for parking that soon?
