A few months ago the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce’s Alternative Transportation Committee held a pledge drive to place bike racks around neighborhood businesses. Jason Roberts acted as Santa Claus this weekend, dropping off seven of them around Oak Cliff (two more, donated by an individual, are coming).
Roberts says he "sprinkled them around" to places like Spiral Diner, Bolsa, Dave Spence at Bishop Arts, Jack’s Backyard, and the Belmont Hotel. He says he hopes to put one in front of the Texas Theatre, too. Each rack holds five bicycles, and the visibility of them will help make it "obvious that we’re bike friendly," Roberts says.
