Oak Cliff-based hair braider Isis Brantley lost her lawsuit against the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that claimed the state violates the rights of African hair braiders. Brantley was arrested in 1997 for braiding without a cosmetology license and later fought for legislation that created a hair braiding license in Texas.

Seven people were injured Monday when a Dodge Caravan collided with a DART bus on Interstate 35 at Eighth Street. Traffic was backed up for hours.
