Nominate a community hero for recognition on a trading card

Building Community Workshop honors “local trailblazers, advocates and leaders” in its third edition of its limited edition trading cards.

Previous trading card heroes have included William Blair Jr., a former pitcher in baseball’s Negro leagues, who founded the Southwest Sports News, which now is known as DFW Elite News. Other “heroes” from our side of the river have included artist Frank Reaugh and community servant Josephine Torres.

Anyone can nominate a local hero, past or present, at buildingcommunityheroes.org. The new pack of 25 cards will be released on Martin Luther King Jr. day, Jan. 18.
