A 21-year-old with a history of home burglary held an Oak Cliff woman at gunpoint last week and tied her up while he robbed her home and stole her car.

Andres Daniel Vera is accused of ambushing at 62-year-old woman at her home in the 800 block of South Brighton. The Dallas Police Department says Vera waited behind a door and confronted her as she entered her home around 1:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21.

The robber tied the woman to a chair while he gathered electronics, credit cards and a cell phone into the her car and then drove off. The woman freed herself and called police. She was not injured.

A fingerprint lifted from a windowpane led police to Vera, who police say confessed to the crime. He is in jail with bail set at $200,000. At the time of the robbery, Vera was out on parole on a previous burglary conviction.
