The streetcar line from Beckley and Colorado to the Bishop Arts District is on schedule to open in August.
Contractors have been working six days a week and sometimes Sundays and holidays to get ahead in anticipation of a rainy spring.
Power, gas, water and sewer lines had to be relocated to make way for the tracks, which run up the center of Beckley and Zang, ending at Seventh.
The car, which is free to ride, now runs 9:30 a.m.-midnight seven days a week between Union Station and Methodist hospital.
