Starkey ran West Davis Automotive business for 52 years


George Starkey of Oak Cliff, who ran an automotive business on West Davis for 52 years, has died. He was 86.

Starkey opened his Starkey Service Center in 1964, and he moved it to its current location, on West Davis at Kings Highway, about three years later.

Starkey died Thursday, May 26, at the L.O. Daniel home he shared with his wife, Beverly, to whom he was married 66 years.

The Starkeys have four children, Rodney, David, Debra and Susan.
