Three armed robberies in one morning

Three people were robbed at gunpoint in a matter of a few hours last week.

It’s unclear whether they’re related, but they all took place within a few miles of each other between midnight and 1:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9. That’s in addition to the four armed robberies (two of which were in Oak Cliff and West Dallas) committed by three bandits early Saturday.

The Dallas Morning News reports that two people held up the Walgreens at Colorado and Beckley around midnight Friday.

Two people in a gray SUV robbed a woman at gunpoint near Britton and Illinois around 1 a.m.

And then three people kicked in the back door of a house in the 700 block of Melba brandishing weapons and demanding money.

Thank you so much Rachel for your assistance! I’ll let my neighbors know as well.

Oncor says they’ve had to order 14-foot arms to install the lights, and those arms have been on backorder for 6-8 weeks. They’re looking at alternative ways to install them, but once the arms come in, it would only take a day or two to install the lights. Please keep me updated on your end! Thanks

Christine, I put a call into Oncor to see if they can give us an update. Sorry to hear that!

We still do not have our street lights on Beckley between Zang and Colorado. We were told by the City of Dallas the lights were to be installed the week of 11/14/16 by Oncor. This is not helping deter the crime in this area.
