City Councilman Scott Griggs shared this message from DPD deputy chief Albert Martinez:

It’s been long overdue, but Lieutenant Salas, my evenings commander, is working hard on getting our evening watch bike patrol up and running. Because of the congestion and popularity of Bishop Arts, it is hard to effectively patrol through there in cars, be visible and most importantly, be accessible to the citizens. The bicycle patrol will help us. Plus, our expectation is that they will also expand the patrol and go through the nearby neighborhoods, Winnetka Heights and the Jefferson business corridor.
