Instagram account tracks absurdity of Dallas’ rental bike wars

I don’t mean to sound paranoid, but is that dockless rental bike following us? I just saw it on Jefferson and now here it is at the end of our street.

Am I hearing things, or did that one just call me Dave? Maybe we shouldn’t talk about it here. The bikes are watching.

Try the Instagram channel @dallasbikemess, which is chronicling the turf wars between the five companies currently competing to attract your $1 an hour and creating the tangle of clunky bikes hogging our pedestrian pathways … and creeks and parking spaces and commercial dumpsters and … oh, dear Lord, they’re everywhere!

The Dallas City Council is expected to address the proliferation of dockless rental bikes soon.

I’ve tossed a lot of them in the creek & stripped a few down for metal parts. Next week I’m going to weld some together and call it ‘Sculpture’

When I tried to move a rental bike that was blocking a sidewalk, it apparently thought I was abducting it.
“Police have been called… Police have been called…”, it squawked.
