Robbery suspect drags cop in escape attempt

A man who police were trying to arrest Sunday night took off in a car, allegedly dragging a police officer with him.

Family members brought Mark Rollings to the Dallas Police Department Southwest substation on Illiniois Sunday night because he was suspected in a robbery.

Police say that when officers tried to arrest Rollings, he broke free and jumped into a car. Officer Kevin Runyan attempted to stop him and was dragged a short distance, sustaining minor injuries.

Rollings drove the car into a house about a half mile away, according to KDFW, and was arrested. He faces charges including aggravated assault on a public servant.
