Taste of Oak Cliff, Haines Avenue garage sale and more this weekend

Taste of Oak Cliff kicks off a noon Saturday near Cliff Temple Baptist Church. Dozens of restaurants, live music, and it’s free! This Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce event goes until 9 p.m.

The annual Haines Avenue garage sale is from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Score some deals and party on the porches of this neighborhood-wide garage sale near the Bishop Arts District.

Jen Maudlin Gallery opens “Full Circle” by Erin McAllister with a reception from 4-8 p.m. Saturday. The show runs through May 5.

Tyler Street Church commemorates the 50th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King Jr. with a concert starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The choral concert is free, and donations of cash or food for the North Texas Food Bank are encouraged.

Methodist Health System hosts a gardening and canning workshop, called “Garden 2 Table,” from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday. It’s free if you register here.

The Rosemont Early Childhood PTA’s annual auction and party is from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Saturday at Hall of State at Fair Park.

Brush up on your letter-writing skills at Address Me, an event that aims to keep the art of correspondence alive. Neighbor Amy Walton will provide everything you need (donations accepted) to write and send a letter from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday at the Wild Detectives.
