Outsider art, feminism and more in Oak Cliff this weekend

The Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts spotlights outsider art in its salon series. Texas artists Bill Haveron and Any Don Emmons (who lives in Oak Cliff) discuss the traditions and curiosities of outsider art, and examples from local private collections will be on display starting at 7 p.m. Thursday. Tickets cost $15 for members and $20 otherwise.

The Wild Detectives continues its feminist festival, Women Galore, with a feminist read-in from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.

Comedian Brian Posehn, from “The Sarah Silverman Program” and “The Big Bang Theory,” performs at the Texas Theatre Saturday.
