I lasted through the entire fried-chicken sandwich wars of summer 2019 without realizing.
The brand-new Popeyes on the corner of Westmoreland Road and West Davis is now open, and it has been since at least June 27, according to Elsa Aguirre, who obviously is real one.
The fried chicken sandwich, which was so popular that it led to long lines and sold out at restaurants, returned to Popeyes last week.
The fast-food restaurant on Westmoreland was torn down several years ago and sat empty for a long time. Next thing you know, poof! There’s a new one.
