The 27-year-old Oak Cliff restaurant will close Jan. 1.

Chef Ricky Tillman opened Tillman’s Corner in 1992. When he died of cancer in 1998, a news obituary described the restaurant’s location as “in a shopping center on West Seventh Street in Oak Cliff.”

His wife, Sara Tillman, took over restaurant operations after her husband’s death, while still holding a full-time job. She partnered with event planner Todd Fiscus in 2007 to rebrand the restaurant as Tillman’s Roadhouse.

They sold the restaurant in 2016 to brothers Jeffrey Kollinger and Ross Kollinger of Carrollton-based Spice of Life Catering and Innovative Hospitality Group.

Jeffrey Kollinger decided not to renew the restaurant’s lease, he told Culturemap.
