Gunshots awoke a sleeping couple at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Carmen Ayala and David Fonseca told KXAS that gunfire is not unusual in their neighborhood, near Sharon Street.

They didn’t realize how close the bullet came to them until morning when they tried to turn on their TV and discovered a bullet hole in the screen. A bullet pierced their window, went through the TV and lodged in the wall near their bed.

They called the police.

“I asked why isn’t there more patrolling around here, if this happens every weekend,” Ayala told the TV station. “And the answer to that is: There’s been no reports.”
