The Dallas-based owners parted ways with Royal Blue Grocery earlier this year; the Royal Blue in Highland Park closed. Two other locations, in Downtown and in the Dallas Art District, rebranded to Berkley’s Market beginning July 1.

A third Berkley’s, in the former Bolsa Mercado on 634 W. Davis, is expected to open this summer.

Chip’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers is now hiring for its new location on North Beckley.

The locally owned burger chain, which is taking the space previously occupied by a juice bar and a grocery at 1605 N. Beckley, has three other locations and first opened in Dallas in 1981.

A manager told us the building will be repainted in Chip’s green and yellow, and the restaurant is expected to open around Sept. 1.

This highly visible spot on Davis at Woodlawn was Ceviche, a short-lived restaurant and bar from the owners of Mesa that experimented with pricier fast-casual dining.

What’s planned there now is Besos, an upscale bar.

One of the owners is Jesse Verdín, the proprietor of Boozy Dallas Daiquiris To Go in the Bishop Arts District.

He told us recently that Besos is planned as a bar and could open this summer, but there don’t appear to be applications for Texas alcohol licensing or a zoning-change yet.
