The Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts offers a way for art collectors to snap up work from budding artists in the Dallas area every year.
The group’s eighth-annual Rising Star exhibition features the work of “undiscovered” artists.
From the Turner House website: “Last year 24 works of art were purchased, the artist gaining exposure and recognition from a new audience.”
A reception with hors d’oeuvres and a gallery talk starts at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. Tickets for two to that cost $250-$5,000.
General admission to the show Saturday night costs $85 per person and includes a membership to the society (it’s $75 for members).
The event is also a fundraiser for ongoing renovation and maintenance of Turner House.
Rising Star opens to the public for free from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
