The man who was shot to death outside the Vernazza apartments on West Davis last month reportedly was killed in a road-rage incident.

Andre Rufus, 44, died Jan. 17, and a Dallas Police detective told KXAS that security footage showed a conflict because of a tight squeeze between Rufus and his killer as Rufus entered the parking lot and the shooter was exiting.

When Rufus parked and got out of his car, his killer reversed and shot him multiple times.

“Investigators found the victim’s truck riddled with bullet holes and several 9mm casings nearby,” the channel 5 station reports.

Police released a security photo of the shooter’s vehicle, a black SUV believed to be a GM Yukon Denali XL, pictured below.

Deadly road-rage incidents in Dallas are not uncommon. About 15% of the city’s murders over the past seven years can be attributed to road rage.
