The restaurant closed on May 23, but Gloria’s at The Domain remains open, and that’s where the dancing is anyway.

Gloria Rubio-Fuentes started her namesake restaurant in 1986 in a converted Shell station on West Davis and Llewellyn that has since been demolished. The Bishop Arts location opened in the former Dallas Fire Station No. 15 2010.

The company grew to more than 20 locations in Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio and suburbs.

“We’ve had an amazing 10-years at our 6th Street location,” Rubio-Fuentes told Austin’s KEYE. “And while we’re sad to leave downtown Austin, we’re excited to continue welcoming all of Austin to our beautiful location at The Domain.”
