The 150,000-square-foot regional medical center crated about 100 new jobs, and it will house the first joint pediatric enterprise between Children’s Health and UT Southwestern.

It replaces the old Sears store at Red Bird Mall and will serve as the anchor for Reimagine Redbird, which is transforming the 1978 mall and its formerly barren parking lots into a neighborhood with apartments, a hotel, shopping and offices.

UT Southwestern at Redbird will focus on the following programs:

  • Primary Care
  • Cardiology and Heart Health
  • Neurology
  • Cancer Care
  • Mammography
  • Diabetes Screening and Prevention
  • Infusion Therapy for a Variety of Conditions
  • Advanced Imaging, such as MRI and CT Scans
  • Culinary Medicine

The medical center recently released the news that its MRI machine was being installed. It will also have 3D mammography, ultrasound and general radiography.

UT Southwestern is an academic medical center comprised of research and clinical care, plus a medical school, headquartered in the Dallas Medical District. It also has regional medical centers like this one in Frisco, Richardson/Plano, the Park Cities, Fort Worth and Las Colinas.
