Mini-mini golf in West Dallas and a tiny sandy “beach” in Bishop Arts are among the experiences Oak Cliff entrepreneurs are unleashing this summer.
Another Round, the mini-golf/bar concept from Oak Cliff resident Kendall Spence, has renovated and added Duffleboard.
What is Duffleboard?
“Duffleboardâ„¢ is a tabletop mini golf game that uses real golf balls and a tabletop putter,” according to a news release.
This will be the first Duffleboard course east of the Rocky Mountains, the release states. The game’s creator, Flat Stick Pub, has six locations in Washington state.
Rounds of Duffleboard cost $8, or if you reserve in advance, $6.
Another Round also reconfigured its mini-golf course from one 12-hole course to two nine-hole courses and expanded its footprint from 5,000 to 8,800 square feet.
The new courses were designed by Oak Cliff-based architecture firm practice. It features murals by local artists Wheron and Chris Bingham. The renovated space also includes new seating, drink carts and a photo booth.
The 9-hole course costs $12, and 18-hole play costs $20.
Exxir, the owner of Paradiso and Casablanca, developed all the buildings in the 200 block of North Bishop and also recently took ownership of an adjacent piece of 9th Street.
The Beach at Bishop Lane is a little patch of sand adjacent to the Palm Bar at Casablanca and Tejas Beach Shack.
Here’s a description of the fare:
Food and drink offerings abound — from Tejas Beach Shack’s Frozen Chamoy Margaritas and Cool Ranch Doritos® Walking Tacos to the Palm Bar’s Longer Long Island Cocktail and mainstay favorite, Casablanca’s Dan Dan Noodles. All offerings can be mixed & matched to be eaten throughout the Lane’s charming al fresco seating areas.Â
Each week of June, the beach installation will have tropical themes: Tulum, Ibiza, Hawaii and Miami, with DJs, live music and pop-up vendors.
