Dallas Police found a caged tiger cub in a Dallas home Wednesday while assisting in serving a warrant on rapper Trapboy Freddy.

WFAA reports that police were assisting the U.S. Marshals Service, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to serve the warrant in the 2700 block of Meadowgate Lane, in the Wolf Creek neighborhood of Oak Cliff.

Rumors spread that the cub had been roaming the neighborhood, but that’s not true, the TV station reports. The Dallas Zoo had to release a statement clarifying that it was not their tiger.

The tiger was taken to Dallas Animal Services and is now in the custody of Texas Parks and Wildlife, the TV station reports.

Trapboy Freddy, aka Devarius Dontez Moore, was arrested on weapons charges.

Freddy has served “multiple prison stints” according to WFAA. He accused DPD of using excessive force during an arrest an a charge of evading arrest in 2018. He was arrested in March, following a traffic stop in Kaufman County, on a charge of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and felony marijuana possession.

It is unclear wether this warrant was related to that arrest. It is illegal to keep tigers as pets in Dallas, and it remains to be seen if Freddy will be charged with a crime for that.

Freddy posted photos of himself with a tiger cub to his Instagram page in June with the caption “Trap Exotic.”
