Village Baking Co. has opened the doors of its new Bishop Arts store, and already lines for the highly anticipated baked goods are long, and items are sure to sell out. (If you have a weak spot for almond croissants, I suggest arriving to the bakery early in the day, or else risk watching the final one get purchased when you are next up in line.)

The store is the fourth location for the boulangerie (a French word for a bake shop specializing in breads, croissants and rolls baked fresh in-store daily). Village Baking Co. also has storefronts in East Dallas, Uptown and Oak Lawn.

A display case shows off the store’s arrangements of fresh croissants, scones, kouign amanns, bread loaves, cakes, jams, cookies and sandwiches.

“We pride ourselves in our handcrafted loaves and pastries, and nothing less than the best is adequate,” company literature reads.

Rest assured, if you do watch the final almond croissant get snatched up, a regular croissant or pain au chocolat will leave you just as satisfied.

The boulangerie is located in the cottage next-door to Paradiso that the Christmas bar Tipsy Elf most recently called home.

The store sits on the corners of North Bishop Avenue and Melba Street.
