New “PAY at this SIGN” signs with QR codes have popped up around the parking lot at Davis and Bishop — previously exclusively for Cafe Brazil, Anytime Fitness and West Davis Dental patrons. Now the lot will include paid parking for visitors to the greater Bishop Arts District.

Bishop-Davis tenants have partnered with Peak Parking, “a reputable company that has managed Cafe Brazil’s other lots for many years,” according to a memo from Anytime Fitness to members.

Members of AF, dental patients and Cafe Brazil patrons will still be allowed to park for free. AF will give codes to members for after-hours visits, according to the notice.

Paid parking will be enforced during certain hours, during peak times of day. By my scan, parking in the lot for a full Friday would run about $16.

The owners of Anytime Fitness say they and fellow tenants have been trying for months to find a parking solution, as Bishop Arts grows in popularity and after a towing company “made some errors.”

“If this does not improve the situation,” they note, “we will try something else.”
