Parkland Health’s La’Kriste Davis, a public health educator, along with her co-workers, will be manning the fair and expecting about 150 to attend. The fair will be moved indoors due to high heat temperatures.

“We want to bring good health to [the neighborhood] since transportation and access to quality healthcare are huge barriers,” Davis said in an email.

According to the event’s details, “this event was designed with the entire family in mind.” All ages are welcome to attend and no registration is required.

Health screenings will include eye care, blood pressure checks, immunizations, HIV/STI testing and other health resources for the entire family. Note that for children through 19 years old, immunizations will require a most recent shot record.

There will also be dental, mental health, eye exams, eyewear and childcare services available. Entertainment will include a bouncy house, board games, vendors, a photobooth and more.

Parkland Health is partnering with Dallas Public Library to provide additional services and treats.

Parkland is also advertising that the first 100 attendees will receive free food and a gift.

One of the fair’s goals is to educate the community about various health resources and provide informational material on physical health and well-being. Vendors such as the Dallas Police Department, Metrocare, Texas Star Program, Mommies’ in Need and more will be at the fair.

According to the Parkland website, “Parkland promotes the health and well-being of the Dallas community with many community events each month.”
