Hampton-Illinois Library Friends (HILF), a support group for the location, was awarded a $3,000 grant from the American Woodmark Foundation.

The foundation is a charitable department of the American Woodmork Corporation, a cabinetry company based in Virginia. The $3,000 grant was the largest in the foundation’s history.

“We are absolutely delighted and deeply grateful to receive this unprecedented grant from the American Woodmark Foundation,” said Stan Aten, President of the Hampton Illinois Library Friends. “This transformative contribution will enable us to further our mission of promoting literacy, fostering a love for learning, and strengthening community engagement within Hampton and beyond.”

Aten plans to use the grant money to bring in new inventory of books across all genres and reading levels.

“We are excited about the possibilities that this grant opens up for us,” said Stan Aten, President of the Hampton Illinois Library. “With the support of the American Woodmark Foundation and the Hampton Illinois Library Friends, we will be able to provide our patrons with an even greater selection of books and resources, furthering our mission of promoting literacy and lifelong learning.”
