New Year’s Eve: Elvis, red carpet, a ball, burlesque, dessert


A contestant competes in the 5th annual Elvis Impersonation Contest at El Ranchito.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve the El Ranchito Elvis way with Southern Flight Band and Elvis impersonator Johnny Lovett. Tickets cost $10 and include party favors and champagne at midnight. Call 214.946.4238 for reservations.

The Belmont Hotel’s party, from 9 p.m.-1 a.m., has a glamour theme. Dress up and walk the red carpet.

The Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts hosts a champagne ball from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Tickets cost $65 and include savory snacks, a dessert bar and a breakfast buffet at midnight.

The Texas Theatre’s “New Year’s noir” includes performances by Nervous Curtains, La Divina and Bethany Summersizzle. Tickets cost $25-$45.

The Singapore Slingers perform at “dancing and desserts” at the Kessler Theater. Tickets cost $25-$35.
