Woman beaten, run over on Jefferson

A man told the Dallas Police Department that he and a companion were beaten by six men on Jefferson at Llewellyn after leaving a bar Sunday night.

The 24-year-old man said the men jumped his 31-year-old female companion. When he intervened, he was beaten unconscious.

The man said that when he came to, a black SUV was running over the woman. She was taken to Methodist hospital in critical condition. He was treated for injuries to his face.

Police have found no motive for the crime, and no suspects have been identified.

Late-night violence is not uncommon near that intersection.

A 29-year-old woman was killed by gunfire after leaving the Patio Bar on Llewellyn at Sunset in January.
