The fact that rent prices in Dallas are increasing is no big surprise to anyone. Oak Cliff, however, is faring well compared to other Dallas neighborhoods.

In a report released by Apartment Advisor, Oak Cliff is one of the top three areas to watch for. Oak Cliff, alongside Lake Highlands and Old East Dallas, are expected to be in high demand on the rental market this year.

Compared to other apartment areas, the rent is lower and more competitive for those looking for a new place to call home. In fact, the median rent for a one bedroom in Oak Cliff is about $1,009, according to Apartment Advisor.

Looking at a map of the most and least expensive areas of Oak Cliff, it becomes more obvious why renters are clamoring to move here. A map on Best Neighborhood.org shows most pockets of the neighborhood are somewhere between mid-tier and very affordable.

Some of the most affordable sections are along Kiest Boulevard, Ledbetter, East Jefferson, Fort Worth Avenue and I-30 and South Marsalis. Redbird, Fruitdale and northwest of Bishop Arts are more affordable than the areas immediately surrounding them.

The most expensive area on the map is Bishop Arts.
