A sculpture honoring the late Arthello Beck Jr. is being installed soon at Twin Falls Park in the Wolf Creek area.
Beck, a self-taught artist who lived and worked in Oak Cliff his whole life, is well-known for his paintings of everyday Black life.
Dallas-based artist Jennifer Monet Cowely, who grew up a few blocks away, designed the sculpture.
She announced on Instagram that fencing is up around the future installation, and concrete is being poured next week.
