The former Oak Farms Dairy and Burnett Field sites off of Colorado Boulevard that Cienda Partners owns.

A case that cleared the Dallas City Plan Commission this week indicates redevelopment of the Oak Farms Dairy site could be moving forward, eight years after the property was sold to a Dallas-based developer.

The dairy, open since 1943, closed in 2014. Cienda Partners bought the site and demolished it the following year. Since then, the site has been quiet, except for the time it was pitched for Amazon’s HQ2 in 2017.

On Thursday, the plan commission approved removing old deed restrictions that were on a 1/3-acre triangle of the property (see map below).

The developer also owns the site of Burnett Field, which can be seen to the right of the Marsalis onramp to the Jefferson Viaduct in the above photo.
